OUN Self Advocates Help at Fair

The Niagara County Department of Health will provide a safe, environmentally controlled lactation and baby care station for nursing mothers and families of young children during the run of the fair. The lactation station is located in a blue trailer next to the Cornell Cooperative Extension Administration Building, and has air conditioning, a refrigerator for milk storage, outlets for power, and a private area for mothers to nurse and express milk. A separate diaper changing area is also available to families with infants and young children.

Volunteers from the “Voices of Niagara – Lockport” Self-Advocates, associated with Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara, will assist the Department of Health by managing a changing station, collecting surveys and handing out educational materials through August 9 at the Niagara County Fair.
