  Current Positions

  • Quality Management Specialist – Niagara County 40 Hours per Week. Ensure the regulatory compliance of all provision of services by investigating, documenting and resolving Quality Management (QM) concerns; performing ongoing observation and assessment of service delivery; providing instruction, feedback and support to staff/ management. Responsibilities involve a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends. Investigate and resolve QM concerns, under the direction of the Vice President / Director of Quality Management, by reviewing and processing reports; collecting and analyzing information; documenting and reporting findings; working closely with Agency staff and management to develop and implement necessary corrective action; ensure complete follow-up. Associate’s Degree and four (4) years’ experience working in the Human Service Field. OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience deemed appropriate for the position. Experience in completing investigations strongly preferred. Must successfully complete investigator training. Requires effective communication and writing skills to include excellent listening and interviewing skills. Must have a valid New York State driver’s license. Must have knowledge of OPWDD Regulations, including 633 and 624/625, and the ability to interpret said regulations.
  • RN Employee Health Nurse – Wheatfield, NY – 35 hours per week (primarily 8 AM-4:30 PM, flexible) — Provides and delivers health and safety programs and services to employees. The primary focus will be on the promotion and restoration of health and well-being to employees, the prevention of illness and injuries, and protection from work-related and environmental hazards, which will be instrumental in the reduction of workers’ compensation liability and other costs related to employee illness and injuries. Will review all accident/injury reports to identify probable cause(s) and develop and implement appropriate corrective actions and prevention strategies. Will log applicable accident/injuries into OSHA log. Will ensure employees’ fitness for duty by conducting physical assessments, evaluating medical history, scheduling drug tests and reviewing information collected/test results to make appropriate recommendations. May be required to have on-call responsibilities. Requires: Current New York State Registered Nurse license. Two (2) years professional RN experience in an occupational/employee health nurse capacity. Experience performing physical assessments and with workers’ compensation. Knowledge of occupational health nursing principles, methods, techniques and ethics. Thorough understanding of obligations related to confidentiality, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality, safeguarding employee health information and any and all other employment records privy to. Working knowledge of infectious diseases, OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, NYS DBL, ADA, FMLA, and NYS Paid Family Leave. Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR).
  • Nursing Support Manager/RN – Niagara County – 40 hours per week, flexible – Provides supervision, guidance and support to RN’s and LPN’s assigned to Agency programs and Residential sites who provide for the health-related needs of individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities (IDD) receiving services through Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara. The Nursing Support Manager will communicate and enforce Agency and regulatory policies, procedures and protocols, performing administrative functions, and may be required to perform skilled nursing duties on occasion as needed. Requires: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from an accredited program preferred OR Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Must be licensed and currently registered as a registered nurse by the New York State Department of Education. Five (5) years nursing experience is required. A minimum of one year supervisory experience is required, five years is preferred.  Experience working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred. Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR). Must be physically mobile to visit various Agency sites and provide own transportation.
  • Registered Nurse/Clinical Specialist (2 positions) – Niagara County – 35 hours per week, flexible – Provides the coordination and regular review of health-related needs for individuals who receive services at Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara. The Clinical Specialist functions as an interdisciplinary team member providing consultation, training and oversight of nursing/health care needs. Registered Nurse Diploma/Degree. Must be licensed and currently registered as a nurse by the New York State Department of Education, with specialized training or one (1) year of professional experience. Experience with I/DD population preferred. Must have valid New York State driver’s license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR). Recommended to attain core level SCIP-R training. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandate training. Light to medium lifting required. Must maintain licensure as a registered nurse. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, individuals, and families. Must be physically mobile to visit various Agency sites.
  • Residential Habilitation Aide – Niagara County-Flexible – Per Diem $10.7380 per hour  ($11.238 if med certified) – The Residential Habilitation Aide works with the Supportive Services Team toward the provision of Residential Habilitation/Community Hab services one-on-one for individuals enrolled in the HCBS Waiver living at home in the community. Promotes individual inclusion, independence, individualization, and productivity. High School Diploma/GED required, one (1) year experience working in the Human Services Field preferred. Must have a valid New York State drivers’ license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR) and have a license for at least one year. Moderate to heavy lifting required. Wheelchair assistance may be required. Must be approved through New York State Register if working with persons under the age of 18. Recommended to attain core level SCIP-R training. Must successfully complete all OMRDD mandated training.
  • Respite Provider – Niagara County-Flexible – Per Diem $10.7380 per hour  ($11.238 if med certified) – The Respite Provider is a direct support professional who works with the Supportive Services team providing in-home respite for the families of a person with an intellectual or other developmental disability (I/DD). This includes, but is not limited to constant supervision, meal preparation, transferring of non-ambulatory individuals and behavior management. Maintain accurate documentation of services provided. High School Diploma/GED required, one (1) year experience working in the Human Services Field preferred. Must have a valid New York State drivers’ license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR) and have a license for at least one year. Satisfy and maintain Category IV Driving Status. Moderate to heavy lifting required. Wheelchair assistance may be required. Must be approved through New York State Register if working with persons under the age of 18.

Residential Positions

  • Direct Care Professional – Residential Aide – Full time and part time positions available. Provides direct care services to program participants by implementing established active treatment plans and established program services. Provides necessary support and monitoring of program participants to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. The Residential Aide promotes program participant inclusion, individualization, independence, and productivity. High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience in Human Services preferred. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and satisfy the agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driving record and have a license for at least one year. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Pay rate $11.7292 per hour. (Overnight Residential Aide $12.3694 per hour – no driver’s license required.)
  • Direct Care Professional – Behavioral Assistant – Full time and part time positions available.  Functions as an adjunctive member of the Interdisciplinary Team (ITT), participating in and providing input into the formulation of the individual resident’s program plan. High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience in Human Services preferred. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and satisfy the agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driving record and have a license for at least one year. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Pay rate $12.3694 per hour. (Overnight BA $12.3694 per hour – no driver’s license required.)
  • Direct Care Professional – Residential Program Specialist – Full time and part time positions available. Responsible for implementation of the individual resident’s program plan. Provides direct assistance and supervision of the individual residents and support for adult daily living skills and housekeeping tasks. Responsible to complete administrative and clinical tasks. High School diploma or equivalent two (2) years Human Services experience preferred; one (1) year required. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and satisfy the agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driving record and have a license for at least one year. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Pay rate $12.3694 per hour.
  • Direct Care Professional Relief positions in locations across Niagara County. Provides direct care services to program participants by implementing established active treatment plans and established program services. Provides necessary support and monitoring of program participants to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. Flexible schedules. High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience in Human Services preferred. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Driver’s license is preferred, but not required. Pay rate $10.7380 per hour Residential and Day Programs.
