  Current Positions

  • IT Support Specialist – 2393 Niagara Falls Blvd., Wheatfield, Full-time. Responsible for implementing and managing an Electronic Health Records system, provide training to staff on this system and on other significant agency software platforms, while providing other essential help desk functions, as designated by the immediate supervisor. Bachelor’s Degree in MIS/Computer Technology, or related field, with 2-3 years directly relevant experience, OR, Associate’s Degree in MIS/Computer Technology, or related field , with 4-6 years directly relevant experience OR, An equivalent combination of education, training and directly relevant experience deemed adequate by the Agency to perform the job at an acceptable standard. Employment history will preferably include demonstrable experience with: MS Windows, Electronic Health Records Systems, File/Folder Configurations & Maintenance, End User Support, MS Office Suite. Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s license record (MVR). Position requires ability to be mobile to visit Agency sites and locations across Niagara County and at times as needed, to Cattaraugus County.
  • Director of Residential Services – Niagara County, Full-time. Directly responsible for the administration and operation of the Agency’s 20 Intermediate Care Facilities & Individual Residential Alternatives. Assist the Associate Executive Director in planning, coordination, implementation and the operation. Responsible for establishing monitoring systems specific to daily operations to ensure compliance with acceptable OPWDD regulations and Agency/Program Policies & Procedures. Master’s Degree preferred from an accredited school in Special Education or the Human Service field, and five (5) years’ experience working with the ID/DD population, to include two (2) years’ with Administrative and Supervisory responsibilities. OR Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school in Special Education or the Human Service field and five (5) years of experience working with the ID/DD population, and three (3) years of which must be in a Supervisory capacity. Must have valid New York State driver’s license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR). Must attain and maintain certification in core level SCIP-R training at the level required as per program or site specific needs.
  • HR Director – 2393 Niagara Falls Blvd., Wheatfield, Full-time. Accomplished Human Resource professional who has a background which includes all aspects of human resources including but not limited to recruitment and hiring, benefits administration, compensation, training, labor relations, policy and procedure formulation, and legal/regulatory compliance, with Affirmative Action Plan Administration experience helpful. Experience working in a Union environment preferred. Proficiency working in HRIS and technical skills required; Paylocity experience highly desirable. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resource Management and five years of HR management experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and directly related HR experience deemed adequate to successfully perform the job. Supervisory experience required.
  • Program Coordinator 2510 Niagara Falls Blvd., Wheatfield – Monday-Friday Flexible (35 hours). Actively functions as an Interdisciplinary Team member to coordinate the planning; development & implementation of Day Services Programming in accordance with the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities. Actively participates in the planning and development of each individual’s Service Plan/IPP; and ensures that services, activities, and supports provided appropriately address each person’s adaptive, emotional, social and functional needs. This may include but is not limited to participation in the case review process and/or other meetings, and editing written documentation and reports submitted by assigned staff. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program in the Human Service field and one (1) year experience in the Human Service field, preferably working with people with IDD, OR Associate’s Degree from an accredited program in the Human Service field and two (2) years’ experience in the Human Service field, preferably with people with IDD, OR High School Diploma/GED and three (3) years’ experience working in the Human Service field, preferably with people with IDD.  Must have valid New York State driver’s license.
  • Administrative Coordinator — 2510 Niagara Falls Blvd., Wheatfield — Monday-Friday (PT 20 hours, flexible). Performs assigned administrative duties for service coordination department. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and one (1) year experience in the field OR, Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or Secretarial Science or certificate/diploma from a certified Business school with three (3) years’ of administrative/secretarial experience OR, High School Diploma/GED plus five years’ experience. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel for Windows. Experience with using an Electronic Health Record a plus.
  • Residential Site Supervisor – Niagara Falls – 40 hours per week flexible – Responsible for the implementation and supervision of daily residence operations including housekeeping, physical plant maintenance, staff scheduling and supervision, orientation and training, health-related care and medication administration, resident and household finances and implementation of residents’ plans of service. Provides direct supervision to residential staff in terms of task assignments, training, paperwork requirements, and all other aspects of staff/resident interactions. Bachelor’s Degree in an area of Human Services or related field from an accredited program, and one (1) year experience in Human Service capacity, preferably with I/DD population. OR, Associate’s Degree in an area of Human Services or related field and two (2) years’ experience in a Human Service capacity. OR, High School Diploma/GED and three (3) years’ progressive experience in a group home setting serving the I/DD population. OR, an equivalent combination of directly relevant education, training, and/or experience deemed adequate for the position. Must have valid New York State driver’s license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s license record (MVR).
  • Floating Site Supervisor Residential ICF’s – Niagara County – 40 hours per week flexible, includes evenings and weekends – Coordinates the daily operation of the ICF program evenings and weekends; ensures that program services are consistently provided in accordance with Individual Program Plans, established regulations, the “3 IP’s” and the “Five Governing Principles”, supervises and schedules staff, evaluates staff performance, and ensures staff training is completed. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Service, an area of Human Services, or related field from an accredited program, and 1 year of experience in Human Service capacity, preferably with IDD population and 6 months direct supervisory experience. Or Associate’s degree in an area of Human Services, Social Science or Social Services field and 2 years direct care experience with IDD population and 6 months direct supervisory experience. Or High School diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience. Or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education, training and experience deemed acceptable for the position. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and satisfy the agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driving record. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Must attain certification in SCIP-R Core and Restrictive.
  • Floating Overnight Residential Site Supervisor – Niagara County – Tuesday to Saturday from 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM, 40 hours per week  – Responsible for the oversight of residences during the overnight hours. Provides supervision to residential staff in terms of task assignments, training, paperwork requirements, and all other aspects of staff/resident interactions. Bachelor’s Degree in an area of Human Services or related field from an accredited program, and one (1) year experience in human Service capacity, preferably with I/DD population. OR, Associate’s Degree in an area of Human Services or related field and two (2) years’ experience in a Human Service capacity. OR, High School Diploma/GED and three (3) years’ progressive experience in a group home setting serving the I/DD population. OR, an equivalent combination of directly relevant education, training, and/or experience deemed adequate for the position. Must have valid New York State driver’s license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s license record (MVR). Must be certified in SCIP-R restrictive.
  • Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) ICF – Niagara County – 40 hours per week, flexible – Orchestrates all facets of the active treatment effort including the IDT creation of relevant CFA/IPPs tailored to meet the needs of the individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Effectively coordinate internal and external program services and supports to facilitate the acquisition of client skills and adaptive behaviors. Promote competent interactions of residential staff with individuals in program implementation and behavior management. Provides guidance to the PI if assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Must have 1 year of experience working with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities and meets one of the following: a doctor of medicine, or registered nurse, or holds a bachelor’s degree in a professional category including psychology, recreational therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, dietician, social worker, speech therapy or related human services field. (Refer to the ICF/IID Regulations for additional information). Understands and demonstrates agency core values for individuals including, privacy, dignity, respect, active treatment, independence choice and person-centered thinking. Demonstrates respect, professionalism, and cooperation in working with other staff. Must be able to effectively write and produce documents such at the CFA/IPP, training programs and protocols. Demonstrates skills to lead and facilitate meetings while promoting teamwork. Must be able to effectively train staff. Must have good time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Word Processing and Data Entry skills required and the ability to use/navigate electronic records. Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s license record (MVR). Must complete and maintain certification in SCIP-R. May require restrictive certification including CPR and First Aid Certification per program site or specific needs. Knowledge of OPWDD/ICF regulations desirable. Must be able to perform lifting techniques required per program or site specific needs.
  • Registered Nurse/Clinical Specialist – Niagara County – 35 hours per week, flexible – Provides the coordination and regular review of health-related needs for individuals who receive services at Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara. The Clinical Specialist functions as an interdisciplinary team member providing consultation, training and oversight of nursing/health care needs. Registered Nurse Diploma/Degree. Must be licensed and currently registered as a nurse by the New York State Department of Education, with specialized training or one (1) year of professional experience. Experience with I/DD population preferred. Must have valid New York State driver’s license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR). Recommended to attain core level SCIP-R training. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandate training. Light to medium lifting required. Must maintain licensure as a registered nurse. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, individuals, and families. Must be physically mobile to visit various Agency sites.
  • Behavior Intervention Specialist – Niagara County – 35 hours per week – Provides coordination, assessment, facilitation and development of behavior programming. Appropriate implementation and review of documentation for all individuals in the Residential Program/Day Programs, in accordance with Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and its regulations. Master’s degree in a clinical or treatment field in psychology, social work, school psychology, or a related human services field; and function in the Psychologist I or Psychologist II Civil Service titles. OR, Bachelor’s Degree in human services field; and have provided behavioral services for an agency in the OPWDD system continuously since December 31, 2012; and either: 1. Is actively working toward a Master’s degree in an applied area of psychology, social work, or special education; or, 2. Completes at least one graduate-level course in an applied health service area of applied psychology, social work, or special education each year the qualifying Master’s degrees referenced in this paragraph, including any degree obtained through an online educational or distance learning program, must have been awarded by a regionally accredited college or university, or one recognized by the NYS Education Department as following acceptable educational practices. Must be able to listen and communicate effectively with peers, staff, & parents/guardians. Must have word processing knowledge and skills. Must be physically mobile to visit various Agency sites. Sedentary work in addition to perform light to medium lifting techniques required per program needs. Must have valid New York State driver’s license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR).
  • Residential Habilitation Aide – Niagara County-Flexible – Per Diem $9.89 per hour ($10.39 if med certified) – The Residential Habilitation Aide works with the Supportive Services Team toward the provision of Residential Habilitation/Community Hab services one-on-one for individuals enrolled in the HCBS Waiver living at home in the community. Promotes individual inclusion, independence, individualization, and productivity. High School Diploma/GED required, one (1) year experience working in the Human Services Field preferred. Must have a valid New York State drivers’ license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR) and have a license for at least one year. Moderate to heavy lifting required. Wheelchair assistance may be required. Must be approved through New York State Register if working with persons under the age of 18. Recommended to attain core level SCIP-R training. Must successfully complete all OMRDD mandated training.
  • Respite Provider – Niagara County-Flexible – Per Diem $9.89 per hour ($10.39 if med certified) – The Respite Provider is a direct support professional who works with the Supportive Services team providing in-home respite for the families of a person with an intellectual or other developmental disability (I/DD). This includes, but is not limited to constant supervision, meal preparation, transferring of non-ambulatory individuals and behavior management. Maintain accurate documentation of services provided. High School Diploma/GED required, one (1) year experience working in the Human Services Field preferred. Must have a valid New York State drivers’ license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR) and have a license for at least one year. Satisfy and maintain Category IV Driving Status. Moderate to heavy lifting required. Wheelchair assistance may be required. Must be approved through New York State Register if working with persons under the age of 18.

Residential Positions

  • Direct Care Professional – Residential Aide – Full time and part time positions available. Provides direct care services to program participants by implementing established active treatment plans and established program services. Provides necessary support and monitoring of program participants to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. The Residential Aide promotes program participant inclusion, individualization, independence, and productivity. High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience in Human Services preferred. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and satisfy the agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driving record and have a license for at least one year. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Pay rate $11.36 per hour. (Overnight Residential Aide $11.98 per hour – no driver’s license required.)
  • Direct Care Professional – Behavioral Assistant – Full time and part time positions available.  Functions as an adjunctive member of the Interdisciplinary Team (ITT), participating in and providing input into the formulation of the individual resident’s program plan. High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience in Human Services preferred. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and satisfy the agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driving record and have a license for at least one year. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Pay rate $11.98 per hour. (Overnight BA $11.98 per hour – no driver’s license required.)
  • Direct Care Professional – Residential Program Specialist – Full time and part time positions available. Responsible for implementation of the individual resident’s program plan. Provides direct assistance and supervision of the individual residents and support for adult daily living skills and housekeeping tasks. Responsible to complete administrative and clinical tasks. High School diploma or equivalent two (2) years Human Services experience preferred; one (1) year required. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and satisfy the agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driving record and have a license for at least one year. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Pay rate $11.98 per hour.
  • Direct Care Professional Relief positions in locations across Niagara County. Provides direct care services to program participants by implementing established active treatment plans and established program services. Provides necessary support and monitoring of program participants to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. Flexible schedules. High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience in Human Services preferred. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Driver’s license is preferred, but not required. Pay rate $10.41 per hour Residential and $9.37 for Day Programs.
