  Current Positions

  • Human Resources Manager – Niagara Falls – 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and energetic Human Resource Manager to join our team in Niagara County. The HR Manager has the overall responsibility for providing assistance in the multiple and varied human resource functional areas with the goal of ensuring the HR Department runs smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization. These functional areas include, but are not limited to, assisting in talent acquisition and recruitment processes, hiring, orientation and onboarding, training and development, performance monitoring, employee relations, development and implementation of policies/procedures, and the maintenance of employee files and records in electronic and paper form. The HR Manager will be assist in the planning, creating, coordinating and implementing quality training programs and developmental activities for employees, which will enhance their careers and meet the present and future staffing needs of Intandem. Requires: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field, and one (1) year Human Resource Management experience. OR Associate’s Degree and two (2) years Human Resource Management experience. OR High School Diploma/GED with three (3) years Human Resource Management experience. OR An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job. Special Skills and Abilities: Knowledgeable in employment law. Proven track record as an effective staff trainer. Must present a positive and professional image as it relates to internal and external communications, and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to plan, multi-task, and manage time effectively. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, and prepare accurate records and reports. Ability to develop constructive, cooperative working relationships with individual employees and in a team environment. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.   • Behavior Technician (2 positions) – Niagara County – 35 hours per week, flexible (may include some evening and weekend hours). Assists with the facilitation of behavior programming for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities (IDD) in conjunction with the Behavior Intervention Specialist. Provides appropriate implementation and review of documentation for all individuals in the designated waiver programs, in accordance with OPWDD and its regulations. – High School Diploma with two (2) years of experience working with people with IDD is required. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in human services, psychology, behavioral science or other related field helpful. OR, an equivalent combination of directly relevant education, training and experience deemed adequate to effectively perform the job. Basic knowledge of behavioral theories, practices and programs. Keen observation skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact effectively and positively with Individuals with IDD with patience, compassion and commitment. Must be able to listen and communicate effectively with peers, staff and parents/guardians. Ability to work independently with limited supervision and work in a team environment to produce positive results with fellow team members. Must possess the ability to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, compose correspondence and meet strict deadlines. Must have the ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment including the use of Microsoft Office Suite word processing, databases, email and the internet. Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes maintaining an acceptable driving record (MVR). Must be able to perform lifting techniques as per program or site specific needs with no restrictions. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated trainings. Must complete and maintain certification in SCIP-R, with restrictive certification. Must be physically mobile to visit various Agency sites and have own transportation.
  • Quality Management Specialist – Niagara County 40 Hours per Week. Must have knowledge of OPWDD Regulations, including 633 and 624/625, and the ability to interpret said regulations. Ensures the regulatory compliance of all provision of services by investigating, documenting and resolving Quality Management (QM) concerns; performing ongoing observation and assessment of service delivery; providing instruction, feedback and support to staff/ management. Responsibilities involve a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends. Investigate and resolve QM concerns, under the direction of the Vice President / Director of Quality Management, by reviewing and processing reports; collecting and analyzing information; documenting and reporting findings; working closely with Agency staff and management to develop and implement necessary corrective action; ensure complete follow-up. Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years’ experience working in the Human Services field. Or, Associate’s Degree and four (4) years’ experience working in the Human Service Field. OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience deemed appropriate for the position. Experience in completing investigations strongly preferred. Must successfully complete investigator training. Requires effective communication and writing skills to include excellent listening and interviewing skills. Must have a valid New York State driver’s license. Must be physically mobile to visit various Agency sites and provide own transportation.
  • LPN Employee Health Nurse – Wheatfield, NY – 40 hours per week (primarily 8 AM-4:30 PM, flexible) — Coordinates health services for employees. Will lead efforts in promoting employee health and well-being and minimize employees’’ health-related lost time and workers’ compensation liability. Provides employee health services and maintains employee health files. Assists in the development of programs that are geared toward the prevention of injuries through investigation and remediation of hazards in the workplace. REQUIRES: Current New York State LPN License and two (2) years of professional experience. One year in an Occupational/employee health nurse capacity highly preferred. Knowledge of occupational health nursing principals, methods, techniques and ethics. Thorough understanding of obligations related to confidentiality, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality, safeguard employee health information and any and all other employment records privy to. Strong knowledge of communicable diseases and blood borne pathogens. Working knowledge of infectious diseases, OSHA, Workers’ Compensation, New York State Disability, ADA, FMLA and New York Paid Family Leave laws and regulations. Ability to skillfully operate computer software programs, including but not limited to word, MS Outlook, Excel. Must have valid New York State driver’s license.
  • Registered Nurse/Clinical Specialist – Niagara County – 35 hours per week, flexible, Monday to Friday – Provides the coordination and regular review of health-related needs for individuals who receive services at Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara. The Clinical Specialist functions as an interdisciplinary team member providing consultation, training and oversight of nursing/health care needs. Registered Nurse Diploma/Degree. Must be licensed and currently registered as a nurse by the New York State Department of Education, with specialized training or one (1) year of professional experience. Experience with I/DD population preferred. Must have valid New York State driver’s license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR). Recommended to attain core level SCIP-R training. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandate training. Light to medium lifting required. Must maintain licensure as a registered nurse. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, individuals, and families. Must be physically mobile to visit various Agency sites.
  • Residential Habilitation Aide – Niagara County-Flexible – Per Diem – The Residential Habilitation Aide works with the Supportive Services Team toward the provision of Residential Habilitation/Community Hab services one-on-one for individuals enrolled in the HCBS Waiver living at home in the community. Promotes individual inclusion, independence, individualization, and productivity. High School Diploma/GED required, one (1) year experience working in the Human Services Field preferred. Must have a valid New York State drivers’ license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR) and have a license for at least one year. Moderate to heavy lifting required. Wheelchair assistance may be required. Must be approved through New York State Register if working with persons under the age of 18. Recommended to attain core level SCIP-R training. Must successfully complete all OMRDD mandated training.
  • Respite Provider – Niagara County-Flexible – Per Diem – The Respite Provider is a direct support professional who works with the Supportive Services team providing in-home respite for the families of a person with an intellectual or other developmental disability (I/DD). This includes, but is not limited to constant supervision, meal preparation, transferring of non-ambulatory individuals and behavior management. Maintain accurate documentation of services provided. High School Diploma/GED required, one (1) year experience working in the Human Services Field preferred. Must have a valid New York State drivers’ license and must meet the Agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driver’s record (MVR) and have a license for at least one year. Satisfy and maintain Category IV Driving Status. Moderate to heavy lifting required. Wheelchair assistance may be required. Must be approved through New York State Register if working with persons under the age of 18.

Residential Positions

  • Direct Care Professional – Residential Aide – Full time and part time positions available. Provides direct care services to program participants by implementing established active treatment plans and established program services. Provides necessary support and monitoring of program participants to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. The Residential Aide promotes program participant inclusion, individualization, independence, and productivity. High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience in Human Services preferred. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and satisfy the agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driving record and have a license for at least one year. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Pay rate $11.7292 per hour. (Overnight Residential Aide $12.3694 per hour – no driver’s license required.)
  • Direct Care Professional – Behavioral Assistant – Full time and part time positions available.  Functions as an adjunctive member of the Interdisciplinary Team (ITT), participating in and providing input into the formulation of the individual resident’s program plan. High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience in Human Services preferred. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and satisfy the agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driving record and have a license for at least one year. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Pay rate $12.3694 per hour. (Overnight BA $12.3694 per hour – no driver’s license required.)
  • Direct Care Professional – Residential Program Specialist – Full time and part time positions available. Responsible for implementation of the individual resident’s program plan. Provides direct assistance and supervision of the individual residents and support for adult daily living skills and housekeeping tasks. Responsible to complete administrative and clinical tasks. High School diploma or equivalent two (2) years Human Services experience preferred; one (1) year required. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license and satisfy the agency’s driving policy, which includes a satisfactory driving record and have a license for at least one year. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Pay rate $12.3694 per hour.
  • Direct Care Professional Relief positions in locations across Niagara County. Provides direct care services to program participants by implementing established active treatment plans and established program services. Provides necessary support and monitoring of program participants to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. Flexible schedules. High School diploma or equivalent and one year experience in Human Services preferred. Must successfully complete all OPWDD mandated training. Driver’s license is preferred, but not required. Pay rate $11.50 per hour Residential and Day Programs.
