A little about us

Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara was started by families in 1955 who were in need of support and services for their loved ones. Today, our family includes more than 600 individuals with disabilities. We work every day to help them achieve their goals and learn to live independent lives.

The largest not-for-profit in Niagara County, and a chapter of NYSARC Inc., Opportunities Unlimited provides day programming, employment and training, horticulture therapy, fine arts, residential services, service coordination for any age, clinical services, recreation (youth and adult) and other supportive services.

Leadership Message

We have reorganized and streamlined the agency’s management team to better meet the needs of the individuals we support. Our information technology infrastructure has been updated – we now have connectivity between all of our administrative, programming and residential sites; new servers and computers; an automated payroll system and an electronic health record for our individuals. The agency also welcomed new businesses partners for our pre-vocational subcontracting services, community vocational programs and our supported employment program. We continue to work closely with the Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara Employees Union, NYSUT/AFT, AFL-CIO Local #265 (our bargaining unit) and thank the membership for their dedicated service.

As we enter our 61st year, we remember the group of parents who started our organization by simply wanting the best for their children diagnosed with mental retardation. We are certain that they would be amazed at how far we have come since then. We will continue to work alongside the agency and Foundation boards of directors, to build on Opportunities Unlimited of Niagara’s long successful history to ensure that we are here for the next 60 years and beyond!
